The Roots Picnic will return to The Mann Center in Philadelphia's Fairmount Park this June 2-4, 2023. This year the festival will be headlined by Diddy backed by The Roots and Ms. Lauryn Hill performing The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill for the album's 25th anniversary. Comedian Dave Chappelle will perform on Friday, 6/2, at the Wells Fargo Center to open the fest. Philadelphia rapper Lil Uzi Vert also receives top billing.

Philadelphia live band The Business has rereleased their song "It's A Philly Thing" in time for the Philadelphia Eagles run to the Super Bowl LVII. The original was recorded in 2008 in collaboration with Philadelphia Row Home magazine. The Eagles take on the Kansas City Chiefs in Glendale, AZ, at 6:30 p.m. on FOX.

The Philadelphia Folksong Society announced on Monday, February 6, 2023 that it 'has decided to take a pause from the Festival this year.' In a statement, the Board of Directors cited financial problems and organizational challenges as reasons for taking this year off from producing the long running festival. Sing Us Home Festival will be held on Friday May 5th and Saturday May 6th at Venice Island on the grounds of the performing arts center.
