Pop star Katy Perry will perform a free concert next month in Philadelphia ahead of the presidential election in support of Hillary Clinton. This will be apart of the "Love Trumps Hate Performance Series" aimed at encouraging voters to head to the polls and turn out on Election Day. Perry will be in Philadelphia on Saturday, November 5th. She also performed during the Democratic National Convention at the Wells Fargo Center in July. The time and location has not yet been determined or how tickets may be distributed. Jon Bon Jovi, Jennifer Lopez, and other artists will perform at other events in other parts of the country.

The Philadelphia Music Alliance inducted six new members into the Walk of Fame along the Avenue of the Arts on South Broad Street. It was an all-jazz induction class including Benny Golson (saxophonist), Christian McBride (bass), Jaco Pastorius (bass), WRTI jazz radio broadcaster Bob Perkins and Joey DeFrancesco (organ). Their plaques were unveiled in a ceremony this afternoon. They join other Philadelphia jazz greats already on the Walk such as John Coltrane, Dizzy Gillespie, Billie Holiday, Stan Getz, Stanley Clarke, Gerry Mulligan, and Grover Washington Jr.

The Philadelphia 76ers home opener is October 26 vs the Oklahoma Thunder. They are lining up some decent musical talent to showcase on opening night alongside the Sixers' talented young lineup. R&B songstress Sevyn Streeter will sing the National Anthem. 19-year-old Kanye West protégé Desiigner will also perform at halftime. The "Panda" rapper is currently signed to West's GOOD Music label. He performed at this year's Made in America festival. Tickets are still available for the game.
