The Hurricanes sealed a 5-1 victory over the Flyers Tuesday night, breaking their 3 game win streak. The Flyers started to fall short in the first period as the Hurricanes led 2-0 and out shot the Flyers 8-4. The Hurricanes then scored again, making it 3-0 at the end of the 2nd period. Flyers' Brayden Schenn scored the only goal for the Flyers, which was his 100th NHL goal. Flyers goalie Steve Mason made 23 saves, but was not enough to stop the Hurricanes. Flyers Head Coach stated, "That was a disappointing way to start coming off the break, it's going to be one game we address from top to bottom and get back to it tomorrow. We knew (Carolina) started very hard with intensity in this building, and they continued that through most of the 60 minutes." Next up the Flyers take on the Canadiens on Thursday.

The Philadelphia Union have announced they signed Bosnian midfielder Haris Medunjanin on Tuesday, while also closing a deal on U.S. International player Fafa Picault. Medunjanin signed a two-year contract with the Union which also has an option for a third year. Medujanin has previously played in the 2014 World Cup for Bosnia. The Union's sporting director Earnie Stewart stated: "We are extremely happy to add a player of Haris' caliber. Having played at the highest levels of our game, be brings both quality and experience to our midfield, we're anxious for Haris to join our group as we continue to prepare for the start of the season."

Temple University's Women's Basketball team is taking on No. 1 University of Connecticut on Wednesday night at the Liacouras Center in Connecticut. So far this season Temple is having a great run, they are 16-4 as well as 6-1 in the American Athletic Conference. The Lady Owls are coming off of a 55-51 loss to the University of South Florida, where they only shot 26% from the field. Temple head coach Tonya Cardoza stated about Wednesday's game against UConn, "We're going to have to make sure that we're bearing down and trying to limit them, I mean, they average (85.6) points a game. So it's going to be hard to stop them from scoring. But we're going to have to find a way to limit them as much as possible. Then finding ways to score against them. They have some great length, some great size and they love to get out in transition. So we're going to have to try and slow that up as well."
