Off the Beaten Tracks - A Free-Form Trip Back in Radio Time w/ Mike Bowe and Chris McCoy

Two Philadelphia Radio mainstays have teamed up to deliver the kind of radio program they love. "Off the Beaten Tracks" on iRadioPhilly is a free-form show by long-time Philly DJ's Mike Bowe and Chris McCoy.

Airing Saturday mornings from 10 am to Noon on iRadioPhilly's MAGIC, Bowe and McCoy craft a weekly 2 hour experience that combines nostalgia and contemporary themes. Between the old WPEN and Magic 103, Mike Bowe has 30 years' experience behind the microphone and music. Chris McCoy was an air personality at Magic 103 and B-101 for 28 years.

Bowe and McCoy describe how the show came together. "We wanted to pull from our experience in Philly Radio. We started sharing memories from our days at "Magic" (WMGK 102.9). In those days you could hear a wide range of music genres all on one station. We are bringing that kind of sound back on iRadioPhilly's MAGIC. It's an enjoyable, fun atmosphere for the weekends."

Mike Bowe and Chis McCoy define the show as being decidedly different. "To us, listening to today's FM radio stations means enduring the same songs over and over and over. On Off the Beaten Tracks we don't do that. We look for music that crosses decades and genres with a nostalgic tone. And we keep it local."
