A Bucks County hunter was sentenced on Wednesday, 7/7, to seven to 20 years in prison for accidentally shooting a teenager at Nockamixon State Park in October 2020. 52-year-old Kenneth Troy Heller pled guilty to involuntary manslaughter, recklessly endangering another person, possession of an instrument of crime, possession of a prohibited offensive weapon, and two hunting law violations in the death of 18-year-old Jason Kutt of Sellersville. It happened around 5:15 p.m. Saturday, 10/24, near the Old Ridge Road entrance to the park near Quakertown. Kutt was at the park with his girlfriend watching the sunset when he was shot. Pennsylvania State Game Wardens and State Park Rangers responded to the scene and performed first aid. Kutt was rushed to St. Luke's Hospital where he died days later. Anonymous tips led police to Heller. Heller was in the park hunting small game. He must pay $10,000 to Kutt's family.
