The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for southeastern Pennsylvania, northern and central Delaware, and much of central and southern New Jersey from Friday, 1/28, 7 p.m. to Saturday, 1/29, 7 p.m. There is also a Blizzard Warning for coastal areas of New Jersey and Delaware. There will be a large coastal storm developing late Friday night. Models currently have the storm tracking off the coast, but if the Nor'easter tracks any closer, then the i-95 corridor could see higher snow totals.

For the inland areas, including Philadelphia: Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 5 to 11 inches possible. Winds could gust as high as 35 mph. For the coastal areas: Blizzard conditions expected. Total snow accumulations of 10 to 18 inches. Winds gusting as high as 50 mph.

Ten people suffered minor injuries when a bridge collapsed in Pittsburgh early Friday morning, 1/28. It happened around 6:40 a.m. by Forbes and Braddock Avenues at the Fern Hollow Bridge near Frick Park. 5 vehicles and a Port Authority bus were on the bridge when it collapsed. Three of the injured were taken to area hospitals with non life-threatening injuries. Rescuers had to rappel 100-150 down to reach the victims. A human daisy chain was also formed to reach others. The bridge was covered in snow and ice, making the rescue efforts difficult. A natural gas leak was caused by the collapse, but has since been fixed. President Joe Biden had already planned to visit Pittsburgh to tout his infrastructure plan on Friday. He made an unscheduled stop at the site of the Fern Hollow Bridge collapse before he went to Carnegie Mellon University to talk.

A 5-judge Commonweath Court in Pennsylvania ruled on Friday, 1/28, that the state's two-year-old mail-in voting law is unconstitutional. The new law created 'no-excuse' mail-in voting, allowing millions of voters to cast ballots before election days in 2020 and 2021. Previously, mail-in voting was only available for specific reasons like being out of town, illness, etc. The court ruled 3-2, with the Republican judges voting against the law. The court's decision will be put on hold, however, as the state plans to appeal the ruling to the PA Supreme Court. That court has a Democratic majority.
