A Philly SWAT officer is ok after being shot in his bulletproof vest on Friday afternoon, 2/11. It happened around 12:40 p.m. on the 100 block of West Lehigh Avenue in the Fairhill neighborhood. The SWAT team was serving a drug-related search warrant along with Philadelphia Police Department's Gun Violence Task Force. When the officers approached a third-floor unit, the suspect inside shot two rounds through the door and struck the lead SWAT officer in the chest. The round was stopped by his vest. The suspect then jumped out the window onto a second floor roof. He was arrested by other SWAT officers outside the building. He was wanted on a narcotics warrant. The scene was declared a HAZMAT situation since the suspect is known to manufacture drugs. The SWAT officer was taken to Temple University Hospital and has since been released.

Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro says that he has reached an agreement with Philly Fighting Covid CEO Andrei Doroshin. That agreement was filed in Commonwealth Court on Friday, 2/11. It will need to be approved by a judge to take effect. Doroshin, a Drexel University grad student, started Philly Fighting Covid at the beginning on the pandemic in 2020. The organization started with 3D printing PPE face shields for healthcare workers. They they then opened testing sites. In late 2020, they were selected by Philadelphia to run large vaccination clinics, which they did at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Dec. 2020. When it surfaced that the organization was planing to change their status from a non-profit to for-profit (through language in their privacy policy), the city cut ties with the organization. Also, Doroshin took unused doses of vaccine from the clinic site and administered them himself despite not having healthcare training.

Under the agreement, Doroshin must destroy all personal data collected through their registration process and cannot profit from it. He must dissolve Philly Fighting Covid and pay $30,000 in restitution. Doroshin is also banned from managing charitable assets or soliciting charitable donations in Pennsylvania for 10 years.

A Uber driver was shot and critically injured during a carjacking in Mayfair on Thursday night, 2/10. It happened around 11:30 p.m. on the 7400 block of Torresdale Avenue near Vista Street. The 52-year-old driver was sitting in his car talking on the phone when two young men, wearing all black, approached him. They forced him out of the car at gunpoint and told him to get on the ground and not to move. The man decided to get up and try to run away, but the suspects fired twice and struck him on the leg. They drove off in his gray Toyota RAV4. The victim was taken to Frankford Torresdale Hospital in critical, but stable condition.

A goPuff delivery drive is alive after being shot multiple times on Friday night, 2/11, in Queen Village. It happened around 9:11 p.m. on the 500 block of Montrose Street. The 31-year-old was in his car about to make a delivery when another car pulled up behind him. People in that car opened fire and then drove away. Police found 21 spent shell casings at the scene. The drive was taken to the hospital and is stable condition. No arrests have been made.
