A Delaware woman was arrested on Sunday, 3/13, after she went on a spree involving two carjackings and the death of a pedestrian. 30-year-old Brittallia Semaan of New Castle is charged with vehicular homicide, kidnapping for one of the carjackings, multiple counts of first-degree robbery, reckless endangering, and other charges. It started around 9:30 a.m. on the 4000 block of New Castle Avenue. Semaan carjacked a Chevy Trax with four people inside. She fled the scene in the SUV. In the area of of Rt. 9 and Boothhurst Boulevard, she struck and killed 47-year-old Joseph Stanavich. Semaan then crashed into a white Maserati on Route 141. A driver in a Ford Explorer stopped to render aid at the site of that accident, and Semaan carjacked him and drove off in his car. She finally crashed into a Honda Odessey near Hamburg Road. An off-duty officer took Semaan into custody. Multiple pedestrians/passengers were injured in addition to the fatal accident.

Former Pennsylvania Attorney General Kathleen Kane was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after a car crash in Scranton this past weekend. Formal charges for DUI have not yet been filed. The two-car crash happened around 6:30 p.m. Saturday, 3/12, at the corner of Moosic Street and Meadow Avenue in Scranton. No one was injured. Kane is still on probation following her perjury and obstruction case. She was accused of leaking confidential grand jury information to the press to embarrass a political rival and then lying about it under oath to a subsequent grand jury. She was convicted on two counts of felony perjury and seven misdemeanor charges, including obstruction and conspiracy. She was sentenced to 10-23 months in prison and 8 years of probation in 2016. She served 8 months and was released early.

SEPTA police are looking for a suspect who punched a pregnant woman on a Center City bus early Sunday morning, 3/13. It happened around 1:45 a.m. on a Market-Frankford Line Night Owl bus near 8th and Market. The suspect approached the woman, who was sitting down, and demanded her to give up her seat. After she refused, the man punched her in the face and pushed her. He then fled the scene. The bus driver contacted police. The woman was taken to Jefferson University Hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries. She is about two months pregnant. If you have any information, contact SEPTA Transit Police at (215) 580-8111.
