Authorities are asking the public's help in finding a fourth suspect in the mass shooting on South Street last weekend. They have released video surveillance (see below). He is described as a tall and heavy set Black teen with light to medium complexion and bushy hair. He was last seen wearing a COVID style mask and a black hooded shirt with distinctive markings. There is a $30,000 reward for information that leads to his arrest. If you have any information call 215-686-TIPS.

Police arrested 34-year-old Rashaan Vereen on Monday, 6/6, around 7:30 p.m. along the 2300 block of Hemberger Street. He is charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, conspiracy, violation of the uniforms firearms act, possession of an instrument of crime, tampering of evidence and obstruction of justice. 18-year-old Quran Garner was taken into custody at the hospital after the shooting. He is charged with two counts of aggravated assault and two counts of aggravated assault on law enforcement officers. He was shot in the hand by responding officers. 34-year-old Gregory "Japan" Jackson was shot and killed during the incident. He has also been identified as one of the shooters.

Two others were killed, 22-year-old Kristopher Minners and 27-year-old Alexis Quinn, and 11 were injured in the incident near the 400 block of South Street on Saturday night, 6/4.

One person was killed and another injured when a tree fell on an SUV in Burlington County, NJ, on Tuesday morning, 6/7. It happened before 7 a.m. on the 1800 block of Ark Road in Hainesport. The couple was driving down the road when a large branch fell on to their red Hyundai SUV. It shattered the windshield and crushed the front part of the hood. 71-year-old Christine Roemer, the passenger, was killed. 71-year-old Albert E. Roemer Jr, the driver, was seriously injured and taken to the hospital.

The Delaware state House failed to override Democratic Gov. John Carney’s recent veto of a bill that would have legalized possession of up to one ounce of marijuana by adults for recreational use. The Democrat-controlled chamber split 20-20 on the veto override. A three-fifths majority is needed to override the veto. The same bill cleared the House 26-14 last month and the Senate 13-7 to make it to Carney's desk. This bill would only have legalized possession. A separate bill focused on the creation of a state run marijuana industry did not pass either chamber.
