A Philadelphia college student was shot during an attempted carjacking in Overbrook Farms late Tuesday night, 6/21. It happened around 10:15 p.m. on the 2000 block of Upland Way near Drexel Road. The 21-year-old St. Joseph University student had just returned home to his off-campus residence. When he got out of the car, two men in ski masks jumped out of a minivan and announced a robbery. A struggle ensued as they attempted to take his keys. The student was hit on the head by a gun and then was shot in the knee. The two suspects got back in the van and left. The student was taken to nearby Lankenau Hospital in stable condition.

An 18-year-old man was found shot to death in South Philadelphia later Tuesday night, 6/21. Police found the victim just before Midnight at the intersection of 4th Street and Oregon Avenue. The shots happened near 6th and Ritner Streets. He was the passenger of a rented SUV driven by his brother. The brother was not injured. No word on a possible motive. No arrests have been made.

A man arrested in Montgomery County last week, June 16, after attacking a woman in Whitpain Township and another in Roxborough, has now been charged in two earlier incidents in Philadelphia the same day. Malcolm White of Brooklyn, New York, is charged with multiple counts of assault for attacks in South Philadelphia on June 15. He is accused of randomly assaulting three women on Morris Street near 13th Street. Shortly after, he jumped a woman on the 1900 block of 13th Street. He is being held in a Montgomery County jail.

Fanatics CEO Michael Rubin is selling his 10% stake in Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment (HBSE) in order to pursue expansion opportunities with his company. HBSE owns the Philadelphia 76ers and the New Jersey Devils. Fanatics sells sportswear, merchandise, and equipment. Rubin wants to expand into sports betting and also signing contracts with individual athletes. Those types of activities would conflict with ownership rules of the sports leagues. "As our Fanatics business has grown, so too have the obstacles I have to navigate to ensure our new businesses don't conflict with my responsibilities as part-owner of the Sixers," Rubin said in a statement. "... Given these realities, I will sadly be selling my stake in the Sixers and shifting from part-owner back to life-long fan." Fanatics is a $20 billion company.
