Longtime Philadelphia Phillies' broadcaster Chris Wheeler will not be returning to the broadcaster booth in 2014 after nearly four decades as a play-by-play and color analyst on both TV and radio. Gary Matthews will also not be rejoining the broadcast team after seven years doing color for television and radio.

According to many reports, Philadelphia Phillies left-hand relief pitcher Antonio Bastardo has accepted a 50-game suspension for a violation of Major League Baseball's Joint Drug Agreement. He is one of a number players who are taking the discipline from MLB today in connection with the Miami-area firm Biogensis of America, anti-aging clinic.
