Kanye West has used his share of samples over the years and is probably well acquainted with the process of obtaining mechanical licenses through the The Harry Fox Agency. That being said, it seems unusual that he did not get permission or pay for the hook he sample from a 1971 song "Bound" for his #1 hit "Bound 2".

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has announced its inductees for the Class of 2014. This year's performer inductees are Philadelphia's own Hall and Oates, Nirvana, Cat Stevens, Kiss, Linda Ronstadt, and Peter Gabriel. The Award for Musical Excellence goes to The E Street Band.
