On Monday night, 3/30, President Donald Trump approved Pennsylvania's disaster declaration. Governor Tom Wolf made the request for the declaration on Sunday, 3/29. This will allow the state and local governments to get money and resources from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to fight the disease. Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf announced on Monday, 3/30, that schools and non life-sustaining businesses will remain closed indefinitely. He also extended the restrictive 'stay-at-home' orders in effect in many counties until April 30. Starting on Monday, March 30, any Philadelphia residents in need will be able to pick up boxes of free food. There are about 20 pick-up sites throughout the city. President Donald Trump has signed the $2.2 trillion CARES Act (Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act) on Friday afternoon, 3/27. The United States Congress approved the act by voice vote earlier Friday. Rep. Thomas Massie, R-Ky., tried to force a recorded vote, but was denied because there was a quorum of House members present.
