Philadelphia Police are currently investigating after two men went on spree of robberies near Temple in North Philadelphia. The two men robbed the students in the three separate robberies at gunpoint near Temple's campus. The robberies all took place between the late hours of Sunday and the early morning hours of Monday. Bystanders rushed to the aid of a girl trapped under a car after she was struck crossing the street in Southwest Philadelphia on Sunday evening. 9-year-old Mayonna Joseph was crossing the street with her sister 10-year-old Ariana Rivello at 60th and Kingsessing around 6 p.m. Sunday. Philadelphia Police are investigating an accident that involved three children in Southwest Philadelphia. The incident took place at 60th and Kingsessing Avenue at around 6 pm on Sunday. Police have stated that the car struck two girls, leaving one of the girls trapped under the car. A group of neighbors lifted the car off the girl, who was underneath the rear wheels. Philadelphia's historic Metropolitan Opera House on North Broad Street is officially set to be restored and renovated as a live music venue. Developer Eric Blumenfeld, who is bringing the nearby Divine Lorraine Hotel back to life, has partnered with concert promoter Live Nation to refurbish the block-long building at Broad and Poplar for $45 million. Construction is slated to start in June and it should be ready to open by the end of 2018.

Police are now investigating after two armed men robbed a Little Caesar's Pizza in the West Oak Lane section of Philadelphia. The robbery took place on the 1500 block of Wadsworth Street at around 9 pm on Tuesday. Surveillance footage from the incident shows two armed men with butcher-style knives enter the store. A memorial service will be held for Cpl. Stephen Ballard of the Delaware State Troopers who was shot and killed in the line of duty last week. It will take place at the Chase Center on the Riverfront in Wilmington, DE.
