The initial lineup for the 2017 Made in America Festival has been announced. This year's music fest will once again take over the Benjamin Franklin Parkway on Saturday September 2nd and Sunday September 3rd over Labor Day Weekend. Headlining this year will be festival founder/curator Jay Z as well as J. Cole and The Chainsmokers. Around 1,000 teachers for the School District of Philadelphia called out today to take part in the "May Day of Advocacy for Philly Schools." The educators with the Philadelphia Federation of Teachers used personal days to participate in the "Day of Action" to protest and draw attention to the long time contract disputes with the school district, SRC, and the city. Philadelphia Police responded after a large suspicious container was found on the highway in North Philadelphia on Sunday. The container was found on the 2000 block of West York Street. Police say when they arrived on the scene, they found the container which smelled of gasoline and had an object on it that looked like a firecracker. A fire overnight in a central Pennsylvania chicken house killed almost 20,000 birds. Lancaster County fire crews responded to the blaze at 331 Walnut Run Road in Strasburg Township at 12:30 a.m. Sunday. The chickens were just brought in to the barn last Monday. Five teenagers will be charged in connection with a fight at the King of Prussia Mall that was caught on cell phone video. Three 14 year olds will be charged with misdemeanor simple assault. A 15-year-old and a 12-year-old will face summary harassment charges.
