Good Samaritans in Bucks County caught and held a man after he allegedly attacked a woman with a knife and tried to rob her. It happened Saturday afternoon at the Queen Anne Plaza Shopping Center on South Oxford Valley Road in Fairless Hills. A man armed with a knife attempted to steal a woman's purse. Philadelphia Police have released surveillance video from Friday's stabbing attack on a SEPTA bus. It happened around 2 p.m. on the Route 66 bus on the 4100 block of Torresdale Avenue in the city's Frankford section. The suspect got on the bus but did not have the proper transfer. The driver told him he had to get off at the next stop. At the next stop the suspect refused to get off the bus, and another passenger got into an argument with the man. A gunshot rang out during a fight at a Philadelphia high school Friday afternoon. It happened just before noon at Benjamin Franklin High School on North Broad Street in the Spring Garden section. A group of students were fighting in a stairwell when the shot was fired. Officials found a spent shell casing but no gun. The school was put on lockdown as they searched the rest of the school. Sonic booms heard and felt in Atlantic, Cape May, Ocean and Camden counties were caused by military fighter jets conducting tests. Military officials said an F-35C and an F-18 jet were conducting routine test flights from the Naval Air Station in Patuxent River Thursday afternoon. For the first time, two African American women will serve as the top judges in the Philadelphia court system. Judges Jacqueline Allen (left) and Sheila Woods-Skipper will serve key roles. Allen was appointed administrative judge of the trial division of Common Pleas Court, which includes the system's busiest and most prestigious criminal and civil courtrooms. Chester Police say a man has been arrested for posting threats of violence against officers online one day after a 17-year old was arrested for posting threats to shoot up a school online. 23-year old David Milbourne of Media was taken into custody after posting the threats against Chester Police on Instagram and Facebook on Wednesday. Snow removal is happening gradually across Philadelphia. Over 21,000 people reported their roads still needed plowing to the city's 311 hotline. The blizzard of 2016 generated 8 times the normal call volume plus another 6,000 requests through social media. The Neshaminy High School basketball coach who apparently knocked down a referee is out of a job. A video was released of Jerry Devine apparently hitting a referee during a game earlier this month. He was suspended from coaching, and last night the school board voted to officially dismiss Devine. It's not clear if he resigned or was fired. Devine was also charged with harassment.
