Delaware State Police arrested a man for the fatal stabbing a woman and her elderly mother in Smyrna on Sunday morning. 66-year-old Gilbert E. Rochester of Clayton is charged with two counts of first-degree murder and two counts of possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony. A mother and father from Delaware have been arrested for the murder of their infant son. 37-year-old Doyle Hundley and 28-year-old Casey Layton of Harbeson are charged with first degree murder and endangering the welfare of a child. Dow Chemical and DuPont agreed today to combine and become Dow DuPont. Once the merger is complete, the two companies plan to split into three separate entities, focused on agricultural chemicals, specialty products and materials. It was a violent night in Philadelphia. Multiple shootings landed five people in the hospital. There is not a known motive in any of the shootings. One of the shootings happened in Fairhill. Police say two males and one female were all hit in a hail of 15 gunshots. It occurred on the 1500 block of East Somerset. The trial for 25-year-old Kathryn Knott in the Center City group attack on a gay couple started today in Philadelphia. Knott is accused of "slinging slurs" and throwing punches when her group of friends encountered a gay couple while out of the town near Rittenhouse Square last year. Police have released surveillance video of a laundromat employee fighting with an armed robbery suspect. It happened at King Philly Laundry on the 5800 block of Market Street in West Philadelphia on December 2. The suspect fired a shot at the worker and pistol whipped him as they struggled in the office and the laundromat. Police say the suspect goes by the name of "Saleem". The victim was treated for injuries to his face.

Federal officials seize nearly 20 pounds of cocaine, hidden inside the cargo hold of a plane that landed in Philadelphia. Customs and border protection officers found the drugs behind an access panel, in a plane that arrived from Jamaica on Saturday.
