A northeast Philadelphia homeowner fatally shot a robbery suspect during a home invasion last night in the Lawncrest section. Police Chief Inspector Scott Small says a 35-year-old masked man barged into the home with a gun and announced a robbery to the five people inside. He says the 27-year-old homeowner drew his own weapon and shot the suspect, killing him. Authorities didn't immediately identify him. Taylor Swift and The Weeknd were tied for second with 7 nominations each. Two people are now in custody for the beating death of a woman inside her home in Fishtown. Police went to check on 64-year-old Kathy Wilson on the 1300 block of Earl Street Monday morning after a woman walked in the 26th District and told police she may be dead. Officers entered through the second floor bedroom. They found all the gas burners on. Wilson was on the first floor couch, brutally beaten, with her hair torn out. A man and a woman have been arrested for impersonating police in South Philadelphia. 48-year-old Terrance Jacobus and 28-year-old Kelli Rowan are charged with Impersonating, Robbery, Criminal Conspiracy, Theft and related offenses.
