Penn State's McQueary Is Not the Villain |
|

If you've been following the sordid Penn State story you might think graduate assistant Mike McQueary is a criminal. The sports press has convicted McQueary in the court of public opinion, vilifying him without having knowledge of all of the facts of this case. It turns out, they may have all been wrong. An example. For at least 2 days on ESPN Radio's nationally syndicated Mike & Mike morning show, co-host Mike Golic repeatedly tore into McQueary for "not doing enough to stop Jerry Sandusky."... Philadelphia Eagles DeSean Jackson Venting--Michael Vick Broken Ribs |
|
by: Rebel - Havertown, PA started: 11/14/11 2:07 pm | updated: 11/14/11 2:07 pm |

DeSean Jackson was deactivated for Sunday's loss to Arizona because he failed to attend a team meeting a day earlier. Initially, it was thought that Jackson simply overslept.
Jackson’s explanation on Monday didn't mention anything about sleeping too late. A team source said Sunday that the missed meeting wasn't the first incident of the season with Jackson.
Michael Vick suffered broken ribs in the loss and his status for Sunday night against the Giants is... Read More |

Philadelphia Eagles Excuses Getting Old |

Nine games into the season, and the Philadelphia Eagles are 3-6. Andy Reid promoted Juan Castillo from offensive line coach to defensive coordinator, and now the defense has gone from subpar last year, to awful this year.
The Eagles have blown five fourth-quarter leads. Sunday’s loss to the Cardinals and fourth quarter collapse was tied to penalties, mental errors, and physical mistakes.
Regarding the defense, Andy Reid says we have to fix it. ... Read More |

Occupy Philly Not High On Mayor Nutter's List |
|
by: Rebel - Havertown, PA started: 11/14/11 2:01 pm | updated: 11/14/11 2:01 pm |

Sounds like Mayor Nutter has had enough of Occupy Philly. It’s already cost taxpayers more than $500,000 in police overtime and other expenses, and is now threatening to derail a $50 million revitalization project at Dilworth Plaza.
That's nearly 1,000 jobs that would put food on the table of the "99 percent" that Occupy Philly claims to represent. Jesse Jackson showed up Sunday afternoon and urged Philadelphia protesters to never surrender.
Mayor... Read More |

|
Penn State Coach Joe Paterno, one of the true legends of coaching, has had his career ended by scandal. His 46 year reign, and 62 year run on the coaching staff at Penn State has ended.
2 weeks ago, fans and players were all exulting in Paterno's 409th victory, which made him the winningest coach in Division I history. Over the years, he contributed more than $4 million to Penn State's general fund, which is why the names of he and his wife, Sue, are on the library instead of... Read More |

Foo Fighters rocked Philadelphia’s Wells Fargo Center last night. Power and energy are the words to describe the concert of 24 songs. While playing material from their latest release, including Rope, Walk, and These Days, the Foos also covered Pink Floyd, The Beatles, and Tom Petty classics.
After a 17 song set, the encore consisted of 7 songs with Dave Grohl playing the first four of them acoustically. The night wrapped up with the Foos bringing the house down with the... Read More |

Temple Almost Brought Jerry Sandusky to Philadelphia |
|
by: iradiotom - Philadelphia, PA started: 11/11/11 8:13 am | updated: 11/11/11 8:13 am |
|
Penn State's Jerry Sandusky almost landed in Philadelphia as head coach of the Temple Owls. In 1988, Temple University was recruiting Sandusky heavily after firing Bruce Ariens. And the Penn State defensive coordinator seemed to be the perfect fit. He had helped Penn State win a national championship in 1986 and had produced seven All-America linebackers.
"He wasn't just a candidate. He was a high-profile candidate," former Temple athletic director Charlie Theokas said in an... Read More |

Eagles Losing. Why? Vick? |
|
by: Rebel - Havertown, PA started: 11/10/11 2:55 pm | updated: 11/10/11 2:55 pm |
|
Why aren’t the Eagles winning? Is it Andy Reid? The defense? Offense? Some say it points to Michael Vick.
Lesser quarterbacks have more TDs than Vick’s 11. He stands in the middle of the pack or worse in nearly every major passing statistic. Vick has been another Eagle whose play has been decent but ultimately not good enough to win. Big plays have been missing.
Vick is completing 62 percent of his passes and has been more consistent than... Read More |
