Dr. Robb Denied Parole; $35,000 Reward CHOP Murder; Medford ATM Skimmer; $20k Reward Nailla Robinson

The Pennsylvania Board of Probation and Parole has reconsidered their vote and has rescinded parole for former University of Pennsylvania economics professor Rafael Robb. The board had initially followed guidelines and voted to release him January 28th after serving 6 years of a 5-10 year sentence for bludgeoning his wife Ellen to death. This caused an uproar from the prosecutors of the case as well as lawmakers and especially the family of the victim. The parole board agreed to hear from the family about their continuing grief and impact and why they believe Robb should stay behind bars. Ellen's brother Gary Gregory said today, â€œThe fact that the parole board reconsidered and revoked his parole is a very significant event. We asked them to do the right thing and they did the right thing.â€ Robb's next parole review is in September 2014. He plead guilty to voluntary manslaughter in 2007.

A reward of $35,000 is now being offered for the arrest and conviction of the person responsible in the gruesome murder of CHOP pediatrician Melissa Ketunuti. The doctor was found bound and burning inside her Center City home on Monday afternoon by her dog walker on the 1700 block of Naudain Street. Investigators believe she was strangled to death by a rope found around her neck. There were no signs of forced entry into the home. They are continuing to talk with neighbors and inspecting surveillance cameras from the area. Police are asking anyone who may have seen anything unusual in the neighborhood around 12:30 Monday to call 215.546.TIPS. The Citizens Crime Commission is now putting up a $15,000 reward, which is in addition to the $20,000 reward already being offered by the City of Philadelphia. Ketunuti worked at Children's Hospital of Pennsylvania. They issued a statement saying, â€œThe entire community of the Childrenâ€™s Hospital of Philadelphia is deeply saddened to learn of the tragic death of Dr. Melissa Ketunuti, a second-year infectious-diseases fellow and researcher at CHOP. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family, colleagues, and friends at this difficult time.â€ Authorities already ruled out her boyfriend and dog walker as suspects.

Police in Medford Township are warning ATM users of a potential 'skimmer' device used at a local bank. The device was found in use at the TD Bank on Stokes Road. These devices are installed over the card slot and can be undetectable to the average person. They work by reading the magnetic strip on your card to get your information sometimes with a hidden camera nearby to see your PIN. Medford police began to receive calls about bank fraud and figured out that a skimmer must have been in place. Only about 15 people have come forward, but 100's more may have used the machine. Some victims had as much as $1,000 stolen from their account. Authorities encourage you to check your bank statements for any unusual activity. If you feel as if you may have been a victim you should call Medford Township police at 609-654-7511.

An additional $10,000 is being offered for the arrest of those responsible in the kidnap of 5-year-old Nailla Robinson from her Bryant Elementary kindergarten class in West Philadelphia last week. The NAACP of Philadelphia, black clergy members and other community leaders are offering the additional reward money. $5000 is being offered by the Fraternal Order of Police for an arrest and $5,000 is offered by the Citizens Crime Commission for arrests and convictions of those responsible in the abductions, making the total reward $20,000. Police are at a standstill searching for the woman dressed in Muslim garb who took Nailla from her classroom, and the man that helped harbor the child for hours afterward. She was found by a Good Samaritan, Nelson Mandela Myers, on his was to working early in the morning hiding under a playground wearing only a t-shirt. Police have searched a target area around the school going door to door, and members of the Muslim community have done the same. The mother of the girl was given a lie detector test as part of procedure and the father has been interviewed extensively though neither is considered a person of interest in this case.
