Philadelphia's new $2-per-pack cigarette tax starts on October 1st. It will have to be put into practice to be seen but the new tax could affect smoker's habits in large enough ways that cut into its expected collections. Will you smoke less or be likely to quit due to the new cost of a pack? How about traveling to the nearest suburban Wawa to... Read More

The NFL has another issue to deal with after last night’s Kansas City Chiefs victory over the New England Patriots. In the 4th quarter, Chiefs safety Hussain Abdullah intercepted a Tom Brady pass and returned it for a touchdown. Abdullah, who is a Muslim, dropped to his knees in prayer (pictured). The referees threw a flag and penalized the team for unsportsmanlike conduct for a prolonged celebration. Social media is lighting up with opinions on whether the NFL should also fine him.Read More

Nobody will confuse Market Street East with Times Square in New York, but bright lights will bring video billboards to the area. The Lit Brothers building on Market Street between 7th and 8th (pictured) will be fitted with digital billboards on the roof. Stadium-like wraparound LED boards will extend 14 feet above the roofline and should be completed in the next three months.

Air travelers leaving Philly for Chicago or even connecting through Chicago should check with the... Read More
