Fresh off of his first new album in a decade, rock legend Ian Anderson of Jethro Tull will be stopping by Verizon Hall at the Kimmel Center on July 17th to perform his concept album duo, Thick as a Brick and Thick as a Brick 2. Just released by Anderson last year, Thick as a Brick 2 is a follow up to the famous original 1972 concept album, a favorite of Tull fans and number one in the charts following its release.

As the Rolling Stones get set for the first of two shows here in Philadelphia Tuesday night, a local choir was rehearsing for their big part in the production. One child is dead after two children were struck by a vehicle in Chester this afternoon. The incident happened at W. 9th Street and Highland Avenue. There is no word on the identity of the victim or additional injuries at this time.

They have added a second night on 21st in addition to the concert on the 18th. The rumor has it that Brad Paisley will warm up the audience. The SS United States has been sitting empty on the Delaware River for the last 20 years and is in danger of being sold for scrap. During its years of operation, the SS United States carried more than 1 million passengers between 1952 and 1969. Father's Day on the grounds of Merion Golf Club at the US Open was a special father son event for many, including Michael Weaver. Michael qualified for the Open as an amateur, but made the cut, setting up a dream scenario for him and his father, Bill. The Wildwoods Restaurant Association’s 2013 Restaurant Week will be starting on June 16th- 21st. The event will also take place on August 25th-30th. The L & I inspector who killed himself after the deadly building collapse left a video message blaming himself for the disaster. NBC10 obtained the message by 52 year old Ronald Wagenhoffer recorded just before he shot himself in the chest. He says, "It was my fault. I should have looked at those guys working and I didn’t. When I saw, it was too late. I should have parked my truck and went over there but I didn’t. I’m sorry." Wagenhoffer leaves behind a wife and a son.Read More

A three-judge panel in New Jersey has dismissed a suit aimed at blocking a special election to fill the seat of the late U.S. Senator Frank Lautenberg. Democrats went to court, arguing that the vote should coincide with the November general election, where Governor Chris Christie's re-election now tops the ballot. Christie instead scheduled a primary for August 13Th and a special election for October 16th. The winner in the fall will serve through the end of next year.

NASCAR driver Jason Leffler has died after a crash during a Sprint Car race at Bridgeport Speedway in Swedesboro New Jersey last night. The 37 year old Leffler, nicknamed “LefTurn” a two time NASCAR winner, died in a heat race at the dirt car event. Lefler lost his NASCAR ride and had been racing dirt cars most of this year.
