Each August as the Earth's annual orbit takes it through the remains of the comet Swift-Tuttle/109P, we are treated to a dramatic show of meteors streaking through the sky called the Perseids. Named because they seem to radiate from the constellation Perseus, this meteor shower will peak tonight Friday August 11th through Saturday August 12th. It is not uncommon to see up to 100 meteors an hour with the Perseids.

Chester Bennington, lead singer of band Linkin Park, was found dead in his home in the Palos Verdes Estates in Los Angeles, CA on Thursday morning. His body was discovered around 9 a.m. by an employee. He apparently committed suicide by hanging. Bennington was home alone, his family was out of town at the time. Today marked the last day of the 2017 Firefly Music Festival out here in the Woodlands at Dover Downs in Dove,r Delaware, and it was by far the most beautiful and stacked day of them all. The sun was out and shining bright, some clouds did pass by though to give the festival goers some nice shade to cool off in. The temperatures were in the 90's today so everyone was feeling the heat. It was another glorious day here at the 2017 Firefly Music Festival at the Woodlands at Dover Downs in Dover, Delaware. The morning weather started off strong with high humidity and an even stronger sunshine, but the festival goers did not seem to mind as they got to sing and dance along with some of their favorite artists.
