The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board is resuming online sales of wine and spirits starting Wednesday, 4/1. Physical state-owned Fine Wine and Good Spirits stores will remain closed until further notice. The website saw overwhelming demand immediately after it was reopened. SEPTA has instituted new changes to increase safety for drivers and riders during the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic. Riders will now board buses and trolleys from the back door. Riders with diabilities can still use the front door. Onboard fare collection has been suspended. Protective shields have already been added to all buses for the drivers. On Monday night, 3/30, President Donald Trump approved Pennsylvania's disaster declaration. Governor Tom Wolf made the request for the declaration on Sunday, 3/29. This will allow the state and local governments to get money and resources from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to fight the disease. Starting on Monday, March 30, any Philadelphia residents in need will be able to pick up boxes of free food. There are about 20 pick-up sites throughout the city. They will be open Mondays and Thursdays 10 a.m. to noon. One box of food will be given for each household. Supplies will last 5 days. You do not need an ID or proof on income to get the food.
