Philadelphia City Council approved a bill on Thursday, 4/22, that would prohibit many Philadelphia employers from testing new hires for marijuana as a requirement of employment. There are a few exceptions for certain jobs including: law enforcement, commercial drivers, and many health care workers. Two people were killed when tractor trailer carrying a load of watermelons crashed into a bridge on Thursday night, 4/22. It happened around 9:22 p.m. in the northbound lanes along the New Jersey Turnpike near the Robbinsville Exit 7A in Mercer County. The truck collided head on with a support beam of the overpass bridge. Its load of watermelons spilled across the road. New Jersey State Police called it a "serious" crash. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Authorities believe that the human remains found on Wednesday, 4/21, are those of missing Amish teenager Linda Stoltzfoos. Lancaster County District Attorney Heather Adams said that the coroner had not yet made a positive forensic identification at a press conference on Thursday, 4/22. The body was buried with a dress, bonnet, and shoes similar to how Stoltzfoos was dressed when she went missing on June 21, 2020. One person was killed and another was injured before the gunman killed himself outside a Wawa in Lehigh County on Wednesday morning, 4/21. It started just before 5 a.m. in Upper Macungie Township. The gunman, identified as 45-year-old Za Uk Lian of South Whitehall Township, shot at a woman's car on Route 22 near the intersection of Route 309 and Cedar Crest Boulevard. Former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin has been found guilty on all charges in the death of George Floyd during an arrest on May 25, 2020. Chauvin was charged with second-degree unintentional murder, third-degree murder, and second-degree manslaughter. The jury deliberated for 10 hours over two days. Delaware State Police have announced the arrests of seven teenagers ages 14-16 for a series of carjackings and assaults in New Castle County this month.
