Just across the Schuylkill River from all the festivities of the NFL Draft, the 123rd Penn Relays carnival has been running all week long. On Saturday alone, 47,420 spectators packed into historic Franklin Field on the campus of the University of Pennsylvania. The big events today as usual featured USA vs. The World. Philadelphia 76ers Joel Embiid is Out For Rest Of Season

The Philadelphia 76ers announced today that rookie center Joel Embiid will be out for the rest of the season due to a knee injury. The Sixers said on Monday that he would be out indefinitely, but then decided to sideline him for the rest of the year after an MRI showed his torn meniscus is worse than they expected. The same scan did reveal that his left-knee bone bruise has "improved significantly." Embiid has not played since January 27th. He missed two full years following the 2014 draft due... Read More

Four Temple Football Players In NFL Combine; NBA All Star Weekend; Phillies First Full Practice

Temple University's football program has now announced that four of its players are going to participate in the 2017 NFL combine in Indianapolis. The four players are DL Haason Reddick, OL Dion Dawkins, DB Nate Hariston, and RB Jahad Thomas. Dawkins, Reddick and Thomas are all New Jersey natives, and Hariston is from Frederick, Maryland. The 2017 NFL combine will take place between February 28th and March 6th at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.

The Sixers have now stated that Joel Embiid will not be participating in the Rising Stars Challenge as well as the Skills Challenge during the All-Star Weekend this upcoming weekend. The Sixers said that he will not be participating due to his injured left knee. The NBA announced that Oklahoma City's Alex Abrines will replace Embiid at the Rising Stars Game and Denver's Nikola Jokic will take Embiid's spot in the Skills Challenge.

The Sixers have now stated that Jahlil Okafor will be joining the team on Wednesday night against the Celtics. Okafor has been in the midst of a trade rumor between the Sixers and the Pelicans, and has not been playing much because of it. The Sixers General Manager Bryan Colangelo has updated Joel Embiid's injury report and says that Embiid has a "very minor meniscal injury" in his left knee. Colangelo also stated that his knee injury is not the source of the pain that has kept Embiid out for nine straight games. Colangelo also talked to reporters after the Sixers beat the Heat on Saturday 117-109 stated that the MRI taken of Emiid's knee showed a small tear and bruise.
