Protesters were back on the streets in Philadelphia for a second night following the Breonna Taylor grand jury decision in Louisville, KY. This protest started at Independence Mall. The group then marched east and about 50 of them made their way onto the southbound lanes of I-95 blocking traffic. New Jersey lawmakers have passed a bill that would ban single use plastic and paper bags as well as plastic foam containers. Several states have bans on plastic bags or Styrofoam containers, but New Jersey would be the first to have an outright ban on paper bags. Some other states also allow customers to chose paper or plastic for a fee, but that would not be an option in the Garden State. Police in Bucks County are searching for a suspect wanted for assaulting a teenager with special needs inside a Walmart on Saturday, 9/19. It happened around noon at the Walmart at 195 North West End Boulevard in Quakertown. Richland Township police released surveillance video from inside the store of the incident. A federal judge declined to stay his own ruling that Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf's limits on gathering sizes is unconstitutional while the Governor appeals the decision. U.S. District Judge William Stickman IV said that the Wolf administration failed to show that "imminent and irreparable harm will occur" if crowds statewide couldn't be limited to 25 people inside and 250 people outside. The United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has come out with official coronavirus COVID-19 safety guidance for upcoming seasonal holidays including Halloween and Thanksgiving. Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf vetoed a bill that would give individual schools and school districts sole authority on how to conduct athletics this school year including fan attendance. The legislation gives local control over games, scrimmages, and other in-person extracurricular activities. School districts could also determine their own safety protocols and crowd limits.
