Philadelphia's indie rock king Kurt Vile is about to deliver his follow up to 2013's critically acclaimed Waking on a Pretty Daze this Friday, September 25th. Local Philadelphia music community incubator RECPhilly has surpassed $12,000 $11,000 with over 50 backers in a Kickstarter campaign launched earlier this week. Black Sabbath has announced that they will be doing their final tour starting next year in January. Their farewell tour will appropriately be called "The End." The lineup will consist of Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler (they did not specify a drummer). Carrie Underwood surprised her fans and released a brand new single called "Smoke Break" to country radio on Thursday. The song was written with longtime collaborators Hillary Lindsey and Chris DeStefano. She explained that the inspiration for the song came during songwriting sessions after they found themselves stopping and going outside for a break after getting stuck writing.
