Philadelphia police have charged the husband of Connie McClain-Murray in connection with her death. Around 10am Sunday morning, detectives revealed that 48-year-old Christopher Murray confessed to the crime and has been charged after failing a lie detector test. Connie McClain-Murray went out Monday night and then never returned home. She was found dead the next morning near Pennypack Park. Autopsy results show McClain-Murray tried to fight off her attacker. The autopsy showed she was strangled.

Philadelphia's own Taney Dragons advanced to the Little League World Series Sunday by beating Delaware's Newark National team 8-0. Fans gathered at Milkboy Philadelphia in Center City for a watch party and cheered every run scored and out made, never giving up hope for their team. The Dragons will now play in the Little League World Series in Williamsport. The first game is 3 p.m. this Friday.

A pickup truck drove into a farmers market in northern New Jersey near closing time Sunday, killing a woman who was dragged by the truck for blocks and injuring several others, the mayor of the borough said. Hawthorne Mayor Richard Goldberg said two or three people hurt in the accident were treated at hospitals, but officials said their injuries were not considered life-threatening. The mayor said the man driving the pickup was taken into custody, but no charges had been filed as of Sunday night. He was being evaluated at a hospital and authorities were trying to determine how his vehicle ended up in the market.
