Accused Killer Video Sex with Corpse; Day 12 Search for Shane; NJ Bear Hunting

The man accused of killing his stepdaughter, Jessica Padgett, videotaped himself having sex with her corpse. Northampton County District Attorney John Morganelli said the video confirmed what Gregory R. Graf told investigators on the day he was charged: that he wanted to have sex with Padgett, and that he did so after she was dead. Filing an abuse-of-corpse charge against 53 year old Graft means they won't be able to seek the death penalty because the alleged sexual abuse occurred after Padgett was killed. Graf is accused of shooting Padgett in the back of the head on November 21st and hiding her body on his property while family and friends searched for her.

It’s now been 12 days since Shane Montgomery went missing after a night out with friends in Manayunk. The reward money has been raised to $50,000 for information leading to the recovery of the 21 year old West Chester University student. Posters are all over the city and suburbs with his picture. Police are asking people to check your selfies in hopes Shane may be in the background as they try to piece together leads and a timeline.

Bear hunting season is open in New Jersey. Today through Saturday is the last of five state-sponsored bear hunts aimed at reducing the bruin population and increasing public safety. Wildlife officials and activists disagree over whether the hunts have achieved their goals. In September, a Rutgers University student was mauled to death by a bear in West Milford after he snapped some cellphone pictures of it. The overall number of bears in New Jersey is estimated to have dropped by more than a quarter since the hunt began. But reports of aggressive bears have risen this year.

Weather
Mostly cloudy today. 37 in Center City.
