Around 20 people were injured when decks collapsed onto one another in Wildwood on Saturday evening, 9/14. It happened around 6 p.m. on the 200 block of East Baker Avenue. The third-floor and second-floor decks fell on top of each other in a "pancake-type collapse" trapping many people. Several children were included in the injured. Most patients were sent to Cape May Regional Health System for treatment. One person was airlifted to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City. No one was killed. The annual firefighters convention was in town this weekend.

The remains of a child were found on a baseball field in Delaware on Friday afternoon, 9/13. Police responded around 4:30 p.m. to the Little Lass Field at 1-381 Duck Creek Parkway in Smyrna. The remains of a child under the age of 10 was found by a person walking their dog in the park. Authorities say that arson may have been involved. At this point, they do not know if the child was a boy or a girl. They also do not know if the child was killed at the park or if they were brought there from another location. The investigation continues. Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 302-653-9217.

An Uber driver is accused of deviating from the requested route and repeatedly locking the doors on two women as they tried to exit the moving vehicle in Chester County early Friday morning, 9/13. 33-year-old Zacharias Georgalis of Upper Darby, Delaware County, is charged with two counts of unlawful restraint and two counts of recklessly endangering another person. The women flagged down a police officer around 2:45 a.m. near the 300 block of Fassnaught Alley in West Chester and told him what had happened. The Uber vehicle with driver inside was still in the alley and the officer took Georgalis into custody. He was remanded to the Chester County Prison on $20,000 bail. He is awaiting a preliminary hearing.
