Philadelphia Police have released surveillance video of a suspect wanted in the gruesome murder of a 60-year-old man in his Rhawnhurst home. Police say that the murder occurred on Monday night, 10/4, at around 10:30 p.m. on the 8400 block of Algon Avenue. Neighbors called police around 3 a.m. Tuesday morning after hearing yelling and screaming from inside the home. Officials found the victim, Al Chernoff, tied to the bed suffering from massive head wounds and slashes to the chest. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The video shows the suspect inside the home. They are medium brown complected, tall, thin build, short black hair, wearing a black jacket, long sleeve pink top, red loose fitting sweatpants, white athletic shoes and was carrying a black backpack. There is a $20,000 reward. Anyone with information is asked to call 215-686-8477 or 215-686-3334.

The murder trial against Sean Kratz of Northeast Philadelphia began today in Doylestown, Bucks County. He is accused of conspiring with his cousin, Cosmo DiNardo, to "kill, rob, burn, and bury" three young men on DiNardo's family farm in Solebury Township in July 2017. The two lured the victims to the farm promising to sell them marijuana. Instead they shot each of them, put them in a pig roaster, burned the bodies, and buried them. DiNardo has already pled guilty to the three murders plus another and is serving a life sentence. Kratz gave a full video taped confession but backed out of a plea deal to stand trial. Kratz’s new defense attorney, Charles Peruto, called his previous attorney a "scumbag" for allowing Kratz to take the deal. During opening statement, Peruto also called his own client an "idiot" with "low IQ" that was only following his "psychopathic" and "lunatic" cousin out of fear. Kratz is expected to take the stand in his own defense.

A woman was killed and two others were injured, including a 5-year-old, in a crash on I-95 in Delaware on Tuesday night, 11/5. It happened around 11:45 p.m. on I-95 southbound near Route 202 and the Brandywine River Bridge in Wilmington. A 2005 Mercury Mountaineer driven by a 34-year-old woman from Philadelphia was speeding in the left lane and failed to negotiate a curve in the highway. The SUV drifted into the middle lane and clipped a 2016 Honda Accord driven by a 28-year-old Wilmington man. The Mercury then slammed into a guard rail, ejecting the female driver. It flipped over, ejecting the 5-year-old boy. The woman was taken to Christiana Hospital where she was pronounced dead. The boy was taken to Nemours A.I. DuPont Hospital for Children in critical condition. Neither of them were wearing seatbelts. The Honda hit a guardrail and came to rest. The driver was taken to St. Francis Hospital with minor injuries. He was wearing a seatbelt. I-95 was closed for several hours while the investigation was going on.

He was originally drafted by Philadelphia in 2014. He was traded away before the 2017 season to the Buffalo Bills for CB Ronald Darby. Matthews returned to the Eagles last year and played in 14 games. He started this year with the San Fransisco 49ers and played in one game. He was released in late October.
