Abington Police have arrested a suspect in the shooting outside of the Willow Grove Mall last weekend. 18-year-old Heyzer Perez-Maldonado of Philadelphia has been charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, reckless endangerment, and carrying a firearm without a license. It happened just before 6 p.m. Sunday, 11/15, in the parking lot outside of Nordstrom Rack and Primark. One person was shot. They were taken to Abington-Jefferson Hospital with non life-threatening injuries. The shooting stemmed from an argument that happened inside the mall. Perez-Maldonado is being held until his preliminary arraignment. This past February, Perez-Maldonado was arrested with three others after crashing a U-Haul into a motorsports shop in Bensalem and stealing 10 dirt bikes worth $100,000 in total. He was out on bail while awaiting trial for that incident.

Upper Darby Police and the Delaware County District Attorney's Office are investigating after a man was shot and killed by an Upper Darby police officer during a confrontation on Friday afternoon, 11/20. It happened in a wooded area near Cobbs Creek and some railroad tracks in the area of North Pennock Avenue and Parkview Road. Police say that officers were called to a residence multiple times overnight Friday. The female resident had a restraining order against a man and he continued to show up at her home. Police say that the man from California was shot after he became violent with officers and non-lethal means failed to stop him. The man was taken to Lankenau Medical Center where he died. The officer involved has been placed on administrative duty. The Delaware County DA's Office said, "I can confirm that there has been an officer-involved fatal shooting in Upper Darby. An independent investigation will be conducted by the District Attorney's office, led by Deputy District Attorney Doug Rhoads."
