Philadelphia Police are asking the public's help in identifying two individuals wanted in the fatal shooting of a 25-year-old man who was out walking his dog in the Brewerytown section on Wednesday night, 1/13. Police have released surveillance footage taken from the incident of the two suspects (see photo below). The victim has been identified as Milan Loncar. He graduated from Temple University with an engineering degree last year. He had just turned on to Jefferson when he was approached by the two suspects. One suspect pointed a gun at him while the second one went through his pockets from behind. The first suspect then fired one shot into Loncar's chest. The two fled. Loncar was taken to Temple University Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later. There is a $20,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest and conviction in this case. The one suspect is described as African American, medium height, slightly husky, wearing a black hooded jacket, black baseball hat, black face covering, black pants, distinct athletic type shoes, and armed with a gun. The second suspect is described as African American, medium height, thin, wearing a black puffy hooded jacket, white color face covering, light blue colored denim pants with light spots, black ankle high footwear with white soles.
Charges have been announced after two men were arrested following a barricade situation in Plymouth Meeting, Montgomery County on Wednesday, 1/14. The identities and relationships of those involved make this case even more interesting. Half brothers 20-year-old Willie Floyd Singletary and 29-year-old Willie Floyd Singletary were arrested at the scene. Police had gone to the home on the 1900 block of Johnson Road by Germantown Pike around 9 a.m. to execute a search warrant involving the younger brother. Several people were led out of the residence. The older brother did not cooperate and barricaded himself in the home for the next several hours before eventually surrendering just before 3 p.m. The younger Singletary is charged with conspiracy to commit armed robbery for allegedly targeting and robbing gas stations. The older Singletary is charged with making terroristic threats. He is also wanted in connection to a homicide in Philadelphia. Another brother named Willie Floyd Singletary was at the scene. He said that their father had 21 children and that six of them are named Willie. This brother used to be a Philadelphia traffic court judge, but was convicted in 2014 of lying to investigators about using 'consideration' for VIPs in a ticket fixing scheme. He goes by Rev. now.
A 7-year-old Delaware boy is being called a hero after alerting his family in time to escape their burning home on Thursday, 1/14. Yanique Rainford, Jr was inside the home with his 2-year-old cousin Liam Rainford and his 92-year-old great-grandmother Rosamond Rainford. It happened on the 200 block of Rice Drive in Bear, Delaware. Yanique said that he was upstairs with his cousin when he went downstairs to get some water. That is when he saw the fire. He went back upstairs and got 2yo Liam out of the house. He then went and got his grandmother. He tried to get her out of the house, but she was intent on fighting the fire. Yanique then dialed 9-1-1 and told dispatchers there was a house fire and gave them the address. Firefighters were able to pull Rosamond out of the house. She was taken to Jefferson University Hospital in stable condition. She is being treated for burns. The fire has been deemed accidental due to a pellet stove malfunction. "I'm proud man. He did a wonderful job, glad he thought to call 911 and just didn't get shocked and scared and stay in there," said the boy's father, Yanique Rainford, Sr. "He saved the day and this could have been at night, it could have been way worse than this. I'm truly grateful," said the boy's grandfather, Don Rainford.

No. 3 Villanova Men's Basketball returned to the practice court on Thursday, 1/14, after having to quarantine for 10 days due to coronavirus COVID-19 issues for the second time this season. The Wildcats went into isolation the first time right after Christmas when head coach Jay Wright tested positive. The team returned to practice for 1-day on 1/3 before having to isolate again due to more positive tests. The team missed 4 scheduled games at DePaul, vs Marquette, at Xavier, and at Connecticut. Those games may be rescheduled. The next scheduled game is at home vs Seton Hall 9 pm on Tuesday, 1/19.
The Philadelphia Phillies have signed free agent RHP Archie Bradley to a $6 million, one year deal. The 28-year-old reliever was 2-0 with a 2.95 ERA and six saves in 16 games with Arizona and Cincinnati last season.
