Google Doodle Celebrates 78th birthday of Bob Moog with Playable/Recordable Moog Synthesizer

Today, May 23rd, would be the 78th birthday for Robert "Bob" Moog, the inventor of the analog synthesizer in the 1950's. Moog synths took off in the late 60's after the Monterrey Pop Festival and 1970's when they became used more and more in rock and pop on record and live in concert. Moog became the de facto synthesizer for the entire music industry.

Google's tribute doodle can be played with the keyboard or mouse, has adjustable knobs for mixer, oscillators, filters, and changing the envelope. You can even record your masterpiece and share on google+.

Just like June 9, 2011 when the doodle was turned into a playable guitar for the 96th birthday of Les Paul, I can bet that productivity will drop today as strange sounds emanate from everyone's computer speakers.

To see and play with the mini-mini-moog, just go on over to the google homepage

Before you go, watch this instructional video on how to play it:

If the doodle doesn't work, you probably need to upgrade your browser, or try a different one. The safest bet would be to download Google Chrome.
