Philadelphia police are investigating the deaths of twin babies in the Tacony section of Philadelphia. The mother is suspected in the deaths before attempting to take her own life. She is also suspected of giving her 4-year-old daughter prescription pills. That child in stable condition.

Police say two 13-year-old girls were caught in the crossfire in North Philadelphia and two men are in custody. Investigators say there was some type of party under way on the street when two men started shooting at another man around 6 p.m. Thursday. The teenage girls were outside playing on the block when they were struck by gunfire. One girl is in stable condition. The other girl is in critical condition.

Authorities are investigating a police-involved shooting in West Philadelphia Thursday in the 400 block of North 53rd Street a little after 4 p.m. Police reportedly opened fire on a suspect; details on the shooting were not immediately released. The male suspect was taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania with a gunshot wound in his chest.
