New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is standing by his nomination of an openly gay, black Republican to the state Supreme Court. Democrats who will consider the nomination of Bruce Harris on Thursday have publicly questioned the bond lawyer's qualifications. The governor says he's unlikely to pull the nominee even if he appears destined for defeat.

Two people were shot in Camden on Wednesday night. The incident happened at Vine Street and N 8th Street around 10 p.m. One person was declared dead on arrival, and the other was transported to the hospital.

A man is dead after being shot multiple times in the chest in Strawberry Mansion on Wednesday night. The victim was transported to Temple University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. No arrests were made and an investigation is underway.
