Archbishop Charles Chaput estimates that the Archdiocese of Philadelphia has spent more than $11 million on the ongoing clergy abuse crisis and that does not include the trial of Monsignor William Lynn. Chaput stressed that the money to pay the bills will come from the sale of excess property owned by the archdiocese.

It’s getting ugly in the Neshaminy School Distrct over the teacher strike. Angry parents and students are throwing things and heckling striking teachers on the picket line. School board president Ritchie Webb claims the Teachers’ Union ignored two scheduled negotiation days in favor of the strike.

A Bridgeport woman accused of murdering an infant she was babysitting more than 20 years ago, is now on trial. The death was originally ruled Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. Melissa Haskell, now 38 allegedly gave alcohol to the 5 month old crying baby, Ryan Baurley, then smothered him.
