Philadelphia schools will close at noon, Monday, because of anticipated high temperatures and humidity, according to the School District of Philadelphia. All Philadelphia public schools, including early childhood programs will dismiss at 12 p.m. After school activities are also canceled.

A Philadelphia police officer was attacked and injured by a Rottweiler on Sunday afternoon after a routine traffic stop turned violent in Wynnefield. One man inside the vehicle ran into a home at 2417 North 56th Street. As officers followed, attempting to make an arrest, a family member inside the home released a Rottweiler to attack the officers. Police say the dog bit the left wrist of one of the police officers, three other officers opened fire, killing the dog.

The 24th annual Pride Parade drew thousands of people to Center City on Sunday for a light-hearted celebration of the lesbian, gay, bi-sexual and transgendered community. The parade featured acts like "Cirque du so gay" and the ICandy dancers. The parade has gotten continuously less provocative over the years as the LGBT community has gained increasing acceptance.
