The Phillie Phanatic is being sued. Suzanne Pierce says she was lounging by the pool at Avalon's Golden Inn in July 2010 when the Phillie Phanatic burst onto the scene, picked her up in her chair and threw her in the pool. She now walks with a cane and has herniations at various levels of her back. No dollar amounts have been mentioned. This is at least the fourth time the Phanatic has been sued.

President Barack Obama arrived in Philadelphia on Tuesday for a night of fundraising events at the Franklin Institute. The three events included a round table with 25 people, a reception with 500 where he gave remarks, and a dinner with 75 people where he spoke. The tickets for the events were priced from $250 dollars to $40,000 for a seat at the round table discussion.

State House debate on legislation to privatize liquor sales in Pennsylvania did not resume as anticipated on Tuesday, but a spokesman for the House majority leader insisted it’s not due to a lack of votes for the proposal. Stephen Miskin, spokesman for House Majority Leader Mike Turzai, insisted it’s only because his boss needed to participate in budget talks. Miskin also claimed that the decision to skip debate on Turzai’s privatization proposal is unrelated to an alternative unveiled in the Senate, which has the support of the top Republican in the GOP-controlled Senate.
