Camden Water Outage/Boil Tap Water, Sandusky's Son Accuses Abuse, Dow Jones Drops 251

Camden's water supply has run critically low. Residents living west of the Cooper River are being advised to boil any water coming from the tap used for preparing food, making ice, or brushing teeth. People who have been illegally popping fire hydrants due to the hot weather may have contributed to the dangerous drop in water pressure throughout the city. This is extremely dangerous for the community since firefighters responding to fire will not be able to pump water from the hydrants. The Camden Riversharks minor leage baseball game has also been canceled for tonight since they are “unable to operate without water due to fire and health codes.” If you can't boil water, bottled water is another option, although pricier. Residents who have any questions or concerns should call United Water customer service at 1-800-334-9781.

To consume safe drinking water, bring all water to a boil, let it boil for one minute, and let it cool before using, or use bottled water, the mayor’s office advises.

UPDATE: There was never a complete outage of water just low levels. Camden is currently filling it;s reserves with the help of surrounding towns.

Jerry Sandusky's 33-year-old adopted son Matt Sandusky announced in a statement this afternoon that he also was a victim of sexual abuse at the hands of his adopted father. The statement, issued just a few hours after the jury began deliberating the case, was read by his attorney Andrew Shubin, who also represents two victims in the trial. Matt had approached Shubin during the trial and was willing to testify. You may recall last year that it was Matt's ex-wife who sought to bar Jerry Sandusky from having visitation rights with Matt and her children. The jury should not know this revelation, however, since they have been sequestered starting today with deliberations.

The Dow Jones Industrial took a hit today with it's second biggest drop of the year falling 251 points. The market was reacting to news from the US and China that indicated a sharp slowdown in manufacturing and production. Overall it was around a 2.2% decline in the markets. The chain reaction started on news from the Philadelphia branch of the Federal Reserve on contraction of Northeast manufacturing.

Tonight, Hazy, Hot, Humid this evening temperatures slow to cool off from today. 80's all night. With Clear skies in Philadelphia.
