What About Sandusky's Enablers; Monsignor Lynn Appeals For House Arrest; Violent Weekend in Philly

The Jerry Sandusky verdict is in, but the story is not over. And neither is the legal wrangling. Lawyers for the convicted child molester are preparing their appeals. Meanwhile, what about child endangerment charges for Sandusky's enablers? Penn State;s top brass may be next in the firing line for covering up Sandusky's actions and endangering more children.

Monsignor William Lynn's lawyers appeal for the Philadelphia priest's release from prison. Lynn is the first priest in the US to be convicted of child endangerment. The judge is considering the appeal that Monsignor Lynn be placed on house arrest. Lynn is 61 years old, has no prior record and very strong ties in the community.

It was a deadly weekend of gunfire and violence in Philadelphia this weekend. Three people were shot and killed. Another was fatally stabbed in a separate incident. One killing was at a block party in East Falls. Neighbors are saying the argument that left one dead and three wounded was over a girl. In 2012, there have been 178 people killed in Philadelphia. That’s 30 more than last year’s pace.

Sports
The Phillies open a four game series tonight at home with the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Weather
Sun and clouds mixed. There is a chance of a passing thunderstorm. A comfortable 78 degrees in Philadelphia.
