Power is still out in many parts of South Jersey. Friday's storms took down trees and wires causing over 200,000 to lose electricity. While the cleanup effort has been non-stop, there are still many without power. With no air conditioning or even power to run a fan, the heat wave is even harder to handle. Many won't get power back until July 6th.

Atlantic County's Office of Emergency Management opened cooling stations throughout the county.
*Atlantic City - Police Athletic League - PAL

*Corbin City - City Hall
*Dorothy - Fire Department
*Margate - Martin Bloom Center

*Richland - Fire Department
*Somers Point - Dawes Avenue School
For residents in the eastern part of the county, Reeds Road School in Galloway Township is open as a shelter, no pets allowed. Atlantic County is also enforcing a curfew between 9PM to 6AM in all municipalities except for Atlantic City.

Governor Corbett was successful in pushing through an expansion of a corporate tax credit that will pay for public school students to attend private schools. The Educational Improvement Tax Credit program was approved by the legislature and will add $50 million in tax breaks to businesses that donate money for scholarships to students in the state’s lowest performing schools.

The Coast Guard helped rescue boaters after their boat hit a submerged jetty and started to sink. The four children and five adults were in a recreational boat off Barnegat Light on Long Beach Island around 1:30 Sunday afternoon. Another boater contacted the Coast Guard who responded quickly. No one was hurt. Rescuers pulled six from the water and three from the sinking boat.

Sports
The Phillies have today off. They will try to end their 5 game skid tomorrow in New York against the Mets.

Weather
