Best Coast and Those Darlins coming to Union Transfer 7/16

Next Monday, July 16th, arguably one of the best indie rock club tours of the summer will be in town playing Union Transfer. The double bill of Best Coast and Those Darlins both harken back to a different time and a different place, that you just can't put your finger, it's just not here and not now. If you had to try you'll probably be somewhere way west and 60 years earlier.

Best Coast, headed by Bethany Constentino with Bobb Bruno, captures the perfect warm, breezy California sundrenched afternoon at County Line beach in Malibu. Pulling up in an old van, sitting on a blanket, checking out the cliffs, and driving back down the PCH to Santa Monica for the night. Their song "The Only Place" should be up for Song of the Summer 2012.

Those Darlins are a rougher, tougher monster. Imagine playing chicken in that van on the top of the cliffs instead. From Nashville, TN, these girls are a little punk rock with a old garage sound and smart lyrics that all turn into great songs with catchy hooks. "Be Your Bro" is a song that will end up on many a mixtape handed to guy friends.

If you already have your tickets, then you are in for a great time on Spring Garden St. Otherwise, just listen to Rift on iradiophilly to hear plenty of Best Coast and Those Darlins plus more awesome Indie Rock.
