The results of Penn State's internal investigation into the Jerry Sandusky sex abuse scandal were set to be released Thursday morning. The investigation, led by former federal judge and FBI director Louis Freeh interviewed hundreds of people to learn what Penn State officials did or didn’t do after allegations against Sandusky began surfacing about 14 years ago. Sandusky was convicted on 45 criminal counts in June.

Closing arguments were scheduled for Thursday morning in a federal court challenge to Philadelphia’s ban on outdoor food programs. The case pits city officials against religious groups that feed the homeless. Religious groups have asked for an injunction to halt new regulations on outdoor food service, on the grounds that they interfere with the free expression of their religious belief in feeding the hungry.

Police were investigating what they say may have been a drive by shooting early Thursday morning in South Philadelphia. According to police, three men, two 28-year-olds and a 30-year-old, were shot shortly after 12:30 a.m. near 22nd and Reed streets in the city’s Point Breeze section. Police recovered at least a dozen bullet shells in the street.
