Radiohead's eighth album "The King of Limbs" is now here, and "shockingly" available a day earlier than announced. Whether it was Friday as it is or Saturday as it was going to be, it's how you can get it that even makes that possible. Just as the previous release, 2007's "In Rainbows", you can only get this album as a download directly from Radiohead. Unlike "Rainbows" you don't get to name your own price. (I admit I did opt to pay $0 for that one to see if it would work). Anyway, it's $9 for 320kbps MP3 or $14 for WAV. If you want something physical then don't fret, they are going to have a 'Newspaper Album' as they call it available in May. It's going to be an elaborate package with the digital files, cd, vinyl, and lots of artwork. You can get it all here: The King of Limbs website After liberating themselves of their major label ties, Radiohead first proved they could be successful distributing music digitally on their own with "In Rainbows" despite criticism/skepticism. We'll see how well they do this time.

As for the album itself... I'm listening as I type and it's a pretty solid Radiohead album. They've held these 8 tracks pretty close to their chest, so no one's heard them before (except for Lotus Flower which Thom Yorke has played live, and there is a video below). Total run time is 37:29, so it's not incredibly long. If you are a Radiohead fan, I would recommend it, you shouldn't be disappointed.

What's up with that title "The King of Limbs" ? Well it's a gnarly ancient tree in a private forest in Wiltshire.
