Twelve people are confirmed dead after a gunman opened fire in a movie theatre in Aurora, Colorado during a midnight showing of the new Batman movie. Eyewitness reports say two people entered the theatre from an emergency exit after the movie began. A smoke bomb was released and gunfire started. 50 people were injured. 10 were killed in the theatre. 2 more died in area hospitals. Police have a suspect.

Today, another funeral for a Philadelphia Police officer. 32 year old Marc Brady was killed last Sunday while riding home on his bicycle. He was struck by a car driven by the current boyfriend of his former girlfriend. The driver of the car is being charged with homicide by vehicle.

A pedestrian was struck and killed by a SEPTA Regional Rail train this morning. The incident happened south of the North Broad Street Station in North Philadelphia. SEPTA's Lansdale/Doylestown and Manayunk/Norristown Lines were affected as SEPTA bypassed the station. Police are investigating.
