Garrett Reid, the oldest son of Philadelphia Eagles coach Andy Reid, was found dead Sunday morning in his room at the club's training camp at Lehigh University. He was 29. The police chief at Lehigh, Edward Shupp, said a 911 call was made at 7:20 a.m., and that Garrett Reid was deceased upon a policeman’s arrival at the campus dormitory. Garrett Reid had rebounded from his troubled past and was assisting the Eagles’ strength coaches at camp.

Seven people were killed and at least three people wounded in a shooting incident at a Sikh temple outside of Milwaukee Sunday morning. Among those killed was the gunman, who shot one police officer helping a victim ten times. The officer survived the shooting. The suspected gunman was later confronted and killed by another officer outside the Sikh Temple of Wisconsin in Oak Creek, near Milwaukee. Officials have indicated this is likely the work of a lone gunman.

A lightning strike in the parking lot at Pocono Raceway after a rain-shortened NASCAR race Sunday killed one person and injured nine others. It wasn’t immediately clear if all 10 people were actually struck by lightning in the parking lot behind the grandstand, nor was it known whether one or multiple strikes occurred during the thunderstorm. The race was called because of storms, with 98 of the 160 scheduled laps completed.
