Monsignor Lynn Bail Appeal Denied, Ocean City Beaches Closed, Garrett Reid Cause of Death Pending

Monsignor William Lynn was denied bail today. Lynn is serving 3 to 6 years for his role in the clergy abuse case and had requested bail pending appeal. The judge ruled Lynn has no right to bail and would not hear any argument. Now, the Archdiocese is drastically cutting back funding Lynn's defense and 2 of his four lawyers are no longer on the case.

Two beaches were closed in Ocean City New Jersey because of sewage overflow. The 8th and 9th Street beaches were closed after a blockage in the sewer line at the Strand Theatre caused sewage to overflow into the storm drain, which discharges into the ocean. Cape May County health officials are testing ocean water samples and hope to have the beaches open Tuesday.

It could be a few days, or even weeks, before we know exactly what killed Andy Reid's son Garrett. Forensic toxicology tests are being performed and the death certificate is likely to list cause of death as "pending" so the funeral and interment can take place Tuesday. Garrett Reid's drug history will play an important role in determining cause of death.

Sports
Eagles training camp will pause for the day tomorrow. Several players are expected to attend the funeral for coach Andy Reid's son, Garrett.

Weather
Cooler and less humid tonight. Down to 67 in Philadelphia.
