Kensington Strangler in Court, AC Expressway Toll Violators, Penn State Trustees Accept Sanctions

The Kensington Strangler case goes to court today. Antonio Rodriguez is charged with murdering three women, Elaine Goldberg, Nicole Piacentini and Casey Mahoney. DNA evidence linked Rodriguez to the murders and he has confessed. Rodriguez faces possible life in prison.

Drivers who blow through the tolls on the Atlantic City Expressway thinking nobody would catch up may be in for a surprise. Starting this week, the South Jersey Transportation Authority will start contacting drivers who owe more than $200 in unpaid tolls. Offenders have five weeks to pay or their vehicle registrations will be suspended.

Last night, trustees at Penn State voted to support the decision of university president Rodney Erikson to sign the NCAA consent decree that imposes sanctions as a result of the Jerry Sandusky scandal. Rather than fight it, they feel it is time to move on. Penn State will pay a $60 million fine and miss bowl games for four years.

Sports
The Phillies are in Miami tonight to play the Marlins.

Weather
Sunshine today. High 87 in Philadelphia.
