Charges have been filed against the second suspect in the last week's murder of Officer Moses Walker Jr. Chancier McFarland, 19, was arrested in Alabama on Sunday and transported to Philadelphia on Monday. Word of McFarland's surrender to the FBI in Montgomery, AL, reached mourners on Sunday just as Officer Walker's viewing services were starting. McFarland is charged with murder, robbery, conspiracy, and violations of the Uniform Firearms Act.

Brian Westbrook has announced that he will retire this year as a member of Philadelphia Eagles. The organization will honor their former star running back at halftime on December 23rd vs the Redskins. Westbrook, the '01 Walton Payton Award winner, was drafted in the third round out of Villanova in 2002. One of the best all-around players, he was a threat to make a game changing and electrifying play whether he was running, receiving, or returning a kick. He ranks at the top of many of the franchise's all-time records. Westbrook played in 107 games from 2002-09.

Actor Bradley Cooper was in town last night to premiere his new movie The Words, which is due to hit theaters on September 7th. Cooper, a Jenkintown native now Hollywood actor, has appeared in films such as The Hangover, The A-Team, Wedding Crashers, and Limitless. He is also known for TV roles on Sex and the City and Alias. The new film, The Words was written and directed by his childhood friends Brian Klugman, who attended Germantown Academy with him, and Lee Sternthal, who graduated from Upper Dublin High School. The movie is about a talented, but impatient screenwriter who finds a manuscript and rewrites as his own on his computer. There are themes of love, ambition, and plagiarism. The red carpet affair was held at the Prince Theater on Chestnut St.

Tonight, Mostly clear skies, temperatures in the low 80s/upper 70s for this evening in Philadelphia.
