Radnor Scout Leader Child Porn Charges, West Chester Teachers, Philly School Closures

A former Radnor Boy Scout leader has been arrested on child pornography charges and Radnor Police want to know if there are any possible victims out there. Forty seven year old Garrett Conover, now living in Swedesboro New Jersey was an active scout master of Radnor Troop 284 from 1991 to 2001. The Conover case is related to a larger one involving 150 child victims and 45 arrests so far.

West Chester teachers are picketing for more money again. The Teachers Union claims to have saved the School District about $3 million by agreeing to a pay freeze last year. The School Board says they do not have extra funds to boost salaries and benefits and warned that a fight with the Union could force a reduction in school programs.

The Philadelphia School District will hold a series of public meetings as it begins the process of permanently closing dozens of school buildings - as few as 29 and as many as 57. The district has a 5 year plan that includes school closures that will save the district $33 million. The final list of schools to be closed will be identified in November.
